Job Description

Overview

At The General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd, we are currently seeking a reliable and professional Security Guard to join our HR Department. Reporting directly to our Head of HR, the selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of company premises, employees, visitors, and assets, while ensuring that all security procedures and protocols are followed at all times. The role operates on a 4-shift rotation throughout the year, including weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control the movement of personnel and materials within and outside company premises.
  • Manage access procedures for visitors, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Inform external personnel about the Company’s Health & Safety regulations and notify relevant employees upon arrival of visitors.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations.
  • Act as an Evacuation Officer when required and help identify potential fire hazards.
  • Ensure guardrooms are always attended, secure, and maintained in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Handle incoming calls and forward messages to the appropriate departments.
  • Administer the Spare Keys Cabinet and ensure proper key control procedures are followed.
  • Ensure delivery vehicles and trucks complete the required inspection documentation before exiting the premises.
  • Conduct inspections of company vehicles and verify deliveries against invoices and load sheets.
  • Perform security searches when necessary to protect company property.
  • Follow assignment instructions and company security procedures at all times.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Secondary school level of education or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of basic security procedures, access control, and emergency response protocols.
  • Basic IT skills for reporting and monitoring systems.
  • Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective under pressure.
  • Successful completion of a Private Guard Training Course.
  • In possession of a valid Private Guard Licence.

Experience:

  • Preferably a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar security role.
