The Labourer’s main job responsibilities are to operate the assigned machines, to load the lines with raw materials and to change over for new formats and products.

TASKS:

• To be capable of operating manufacturing equipment, including the starting up, normal running and shutting down of equipment.
• To perform changeover of manufacturing equipment for format and product changes.
• To operate manufacturing equipment in a way to maximise Yield and Efficiency.
• To monitor correct functioning of manufacturing equipment with respect to functionality, quality and process parameters and immediately inform Technical Process Leader, Technicians, Technical Machine Operator and Quality Assurance Analyst when a problem arises. 
• To operate the manufacturing equipment in a safe manner (machine guards in place, wearing of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), correct operation of emergency stops, etc.) and inform Technical Process Leader and Technicians of any faults in this respect.
• To assist the Technical Machine Operators (TMO) when required.
• To ensure the cleanliness of the manufacturing equipment including all surrounding areas by following the relevant cleaning schedules and instructions given by the Technical Process Leaders.
• To ensure a high level of hygiene in all manufacturing areas.
• To report to the direct superior at least five minutes before start of shift and receive a proper hand-over for all work-related issues from previous shift colleague.
• To leave the designated workplace only after authorized by the direct superior and after a proper hand over is given to the replacement colleague.
• To be available for additional hours for production, cleaning and any other duties assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

• That the assigned machines and auxiliary equipment are operated in a manner which ensures that all budgeted yields, efficiencies, and quality parameters are achieved as a minimum. 
• That all products produced are produced within the quality parameters outlined in the Company’s quality plans and log sheets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• School Leaving Certificate

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Basic reading and writing
• Good communication skills
• Ability to follow procedures
• Ability to show a basic hands-on approach

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in a production environment will be considered an asset
