Job Description

Overview

To ensure the smooth running of the finished goods’ warehouses including stock rotation, truck loading, product checking, issuing of invoices whilst ensuring Health and Safety practices are adhered to.

TASKS:

  • To ensure that finished goods and empties are stacked in a proper manner to avoid damage to the same goods and any hazards to employees. 
  • To assist in investigating any discrepancies in stock management as instructed by Inventory Clerk and/or Warehouse Coordinators.
  • To ensure that the label attached to any pallet tallies with the goods (quantity and flavour) on each pallet.
  • To ensure that all goods going in and out of the warehouse are being scanned. By scanning the Checker confirms the receipt/issue of goods as defined through the scanning process.
  • To ensure that loads are scanned in Warehouse Management System on start/end of the Checking process. 
  • To ensure that any discrepancies found in the checking process are reported in the Warehouse Management System. 
  • To ensure that all company rules are abided to (e.g. Consumption of food to be done in the canteen, no one in the Warehouse without high visibility vest etc).
  • To ensure that all personnel in the Warehouse are conducting themselves in a presentable way, i.e. uniforms must be clean; visitors/clients are addressed in a polite manner etc. and report to the Warehouse Coordinator any non-conformance.
  • To ensure that self-employed drivers, helpers and visitors (Plant Sales) are conducting themselves according to Company rules and regulations when on Company premises (i.e. No one is allowed in the warehouse).
  • To check all loads, both outgoing and incoming, according to company policies. Any discrepancies must be resolved and reported to the attention of the Warehouse Coordinator. 
  • To record the outgoing loads in SAP.
  • To ensure that appropriate vehicles are used for the specific load i.e. If a vehicle can only be loaded with one pallet and load is of two pallets, the attention of the Coordinator must be drawn so to coordinate with Dispatching and agreed on the type of vehicle that must be used.
  • To ensure that all goods returned to the warehouse are in a sellable/useable order (i.e. all separators and pallets must be in good order for reuse; broken items must not be accepted back. For finished products the returns must be of the same dates as in the warehouse, otherwise they must be authorized by the QA Manager prior to return). All the packets must be complete.
  • To participate in Monthly stock takes with the Accounts Department.
  • To ensure that all required information is recorded on the relevant forms according to Company policies.
  • To ensure that proper traffic management plan is implemented in the yard and in the warehouse at all times.
  • To ensure that loading bays are kept clean at all times and waste is separated. 
  • To forward any ideas/recommendations which can improve the running of the department (safety, cost saving, increased efficiency, increased service level etc.).
  • To ensure that trucks are loaded safely and ropes are placed in cabin.
  • To report damages found before using a vehicle (i.e. vehicle must be checked before being driven).
  • To ensure that all EHS regulations are adhered to by the entire department including self employed drivers and their helpers and any visitors to the department.
  • To ensure that before the closing of the warehouse all doors must be closed and lights switched off.
  • To carry out other reasonable duties that are asked of you other those listed in this job description. 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

Secondary school education.

Read, write and speak English & Maltese. 

Perform basic mathematical calculations.

Able to work accurately, independently and part of a team.

Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

‘C’ Licence will be considered as an asset.
