Overview

This multifaceted role demands a blend of technical prowess, leadership acumen, and strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader adept at navigating change, managing budgets, tracking KPIs, fostering a successful team, and ensuring robust IT infrastructure and security.

TASKS:

1. Hands-on:

• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure: Oversee the smooth operation of servers, networks, storage, and other
critical systems.

• Implement and maintain security controls: Enforce security policies, configure firewalls, manage access controls,
and conduct vulnerability assessments to safeguard sensitive data.

• Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues: Diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently, minimizing downtime and
ensuring system availability.

• Stay abreast of evolving technologies: Continuously learn and adapt to emerging trends in infrastructure and security
solutions.

2. Change Management:

• Lead and manage IT infrastructure and security changes: Develop and execute comprehensive change management
plans to minimize disruption and ensure successful implementation.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders: Clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical
audiences, fostering collaboration and buy-in.

• Train and support users: Provide clear and concise training on new technologies and processes, ensuring user
proficiency and maximizing system utilization.

3. Budgeting:

• Develop and manage IT infrastructure and security budgets: Allocate resources effectively, considering long-term
needs, potential return on investment (ROI), and cost optimization.

• Negotiate with vendors and service providers: Secure the best possible deals for hardware, software, and security
solutions.

• Monitor and track IT expenditures: Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure adherence to budgetary
constraints.

4. KPIs:

• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs): Establish relevant metrics to measure the effectiveness and
efficiency of IT infrastructure and security operations.

• Analyze data and generate reports: Regularly evaluate KPI performance and provide insights to management for
informed decision-making.

• Continuously improve processes and systems: Leverage data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and
optimize performance.

5. Leadership:

• Provide strategic direction and vision: Shape the future of IT infrastructure and security, aligning with organizational
goals and objectives.

• Motivate and inspire team members: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and
individual growth.

• Delegate tasks effectively: Empower team members and assign responsibilities based on strengths and skillsets.

6. Mentoring:

• Provide guidance and support to junior team members: Share knowledge, expertise, and career advice to help them
develop their technical and professional skills.

• Offer constructive feedback: Help team members identify areas for improvement and support their professional
development.

• Promote a culture of continuous learning: Encourage team members to stay up-to-date with industry trends and
actively participate in professional development opportunities.

7. Recruitment:

• Develop and implement recruitment strategies: Identify and attract top talent for IT infrastructure and security
positions.

• Conduct interviews and assess candidates: Evaluate technical skills, cultural fit, and potential for success within the
team.

• Onboard new hires: Provide effective onboarding programs to integrate new team members seamlessly and ensure
their success.

8. General:

• Be knowledgeable and adhere to the company polices & procedures.

• Maintain confidentiality with regards to information being processed, accessed, or stored.

• Perform all duties to ensure the deliverables are achieved for the success of the department and its initiatives.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in IT/Computer Studies or an equivalent.

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Team Leader or Management position.

• Has the ability to drive the team deliver projects within the stipulated timelines and with quality.

• Must have strong communication.

• Must have strong problem-solving skills.

• Ambitious, good attitude, willing to learn and promote teamwork spirit.

• Experience in IT Networking & IT Security methodologies. 

• Experience in Data Centre Infrastructure such as Servers, Storage, Clustering and Network Appliances.

• Experience in Data Centre Applications such as VMware, Veeam, VPN, 3CX PABX Systems, and other relevant services

• Experience in ITIL Processes & IT Operations best practices.

• Sound Experience in Microsoft platforms and products such as Microsoft Office 365 & Advanced Threat Protection.

• Experienced working in multi-site organisations environment.

• Must be willing to be on-call and travel to off-sites.
