The Senior Maintenance Engineer must ensure that production equipment is maintained and complies to Quality, Yield and Efficiency target/budget. Preventive Maintenance programs must be always implemented, to maintain all facility equipment in a safe working condition and to avoid equipment breakdowns. In the case of a breakdown the equipment must be made operational in the shortest possible time.
Tasks:
- To ensure immediate attention is given to all equipment breakdowns to minimise line downtime and optimise yields, efficiencies and quality.
- To prepare yearly preventive maintenance plans for all plant and auxiliary equipment, and to ensure that it is implemented efficiently.
- To prepare a yearly maintenance budget covering capital investment, running expenses, consumables, consultancy/external interventions, workshops, spare parts and personnel, all to ensure a smooth running of the entire plant, at an optimum with respect to cost and plant efficiency.
- To ensure that maintenance support is available to ensure that all facility equipment is running efficiently and effectively.
- To constantly monitor all site and plant equipment to identify potential faults, thus initiating preventive/corrective action to minimise line downtime ad optimise yields and efficiencies.
- To ensure that the correct level of service from the Maintenance, Process and Quality sections are coordinated ensuring that projects are delivered to the required specifications and deadlines.
- To ensure that all energy-consuming equipment and any other equipment having impact on environment are included in the Company’s preventive maintenance program.
- To verify that all maintenance work carried out is checked, to ensure that the desired results are obtained.
- To ensure that spare parts levels are optimised with respect to risk and cost, considering equipment condition, and delivery time.
- To ensure that all required information and data is logged/recorded and analysed, and that relevant corrective action is taken to avoid/minimise downtime and costs.
- To ensure that all department resources are fully utilised, both with respect to man-hours, spare parts and consumables.
- To ensure that all maintenance work is carried out according to health and safety regulations.
- To ensure that all plant and auxiliary equipment is maintained according to valid health and safety standards and regulations.
- To assist in coordinate technical projects for plant upgrades/modifications and yield/efficiency improvements.
- To conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge and contribution of the maintenance technicians.
- To prepare reports, analyse data, and make recommendations from improving plant operations and solving maintenance related problems.
- To initiate and carry out projects that improves efficiency and / or reduces operating costs.
- To track, analyse and improve KPIs.
- To participate in objective setting, plan development and performance reviews of plant performance.
