We are seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Manager to lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Company’s H&S Management System. Reporting to the Head of Plant & Supply Chain, the chosen candidate will ensure full compliance with local legislation, ISO standards, Company and The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) requirements. The role also covers internal auditing across quality, food safety and environmental systems while driving a strong safety culture across all operations.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Lead, maintain and continually improve the Company’s Health & Safety Management System in line with Maltese legislation, ISO 45001, Company and TCCC requirements.
• Identify H&S risks and aspects across all operations, ensuring appropriate controls, procedures and documentation are maintained.
• Monitor and communicate all applicable H&S legal obligations to management, employees and contractors, ensuring Company-wide compliance.
• Develop annual EHS business plans and budgets, supporting achievement of Company H&S objectives.
• Coordinate, prepare for and support internal and external audits for ISO 45001 and other standard / requirements.
• Develop and implement the Company’s H&S training plan, delivering internal training as required for employees, contractors and other third-party workers.
• Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations; ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and effective.
• Conduct supplier, contractor and routine on-site H&S inspections, ensuring compliance with Maltese law and Company standards.
• Audit the Company’s quality (ISO 9001), food safety (FSSC 22000) and environmental systems (ISO 14001) in collaboration with the Quality Systems Manager.
• Lead and support the Environment Manager in the development, implementation and continual improvement of the Company’s Environmental Management System (ISO 14001).
• Facilitate EHS Committee meetings, maintain H&S documentation and records, and support emergency preparedness as an Evacuation Officer.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required:
• Preferably listed on the OHSA Malta “Register of Competent Persons” for workplace risk assessment (or working toward registration).
• IOSH and/or NEBOSH certification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• A recognised qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Maltese H&S legislation, regulations, and OHSA guidelines.
• Experience implementing and managing ISO 45001, and exposure to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and FSSC 22000 systems.
• Demonstrated experience in incident investigation, auditing, and development of H&S procedures.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to train, influence and engage employees at all levels.
• Strong organisational, analytical and report-writing abilities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across operations and management teams.
• A proactive mindset with strong leadership capabilities and commitment to continuous improvement.
